It is a Brazilian innovation that could be emulated in Africa. On a continent facing the difficulties of access to water, this filter that makes rainwater clean for consumption could be a solution.

In Brazil, a company markets a smart filtering purification system that transforms rainwater into drinking water from home. The name of this device? ChoveChuva (in French, Rain Rain). This innovative solution reduces bills while preserving the environment.

ChoveChuva is a dipositif sold in Brazil to private individuals who wish to save water. The stainless steel filter can store water from the gutters, separate larger residues (such as leaves) while performing a complete filtration of waste, regulate the pH of the water and the water. make it safe to drink by neutralizing micro-organisms, viruses and pathogenic bacteria by simply adding chlorine according to the recommended amounts. The consumable water is then stored in a tank.

The icing on the cake: this filter is 100% autonomous since it does not depend on electricity to work. The process is done by gravity.

In Brazil, this device is the only device available on the market capable of providing complete end-to-end filtering and transforming water to make it drinkable. A kit to analyze chlorine levels and pH regularly ensures that the quality of water meets all the criteria necessary for its consumption.

The ChoveChuva has an approximate capacity of 3,000 liters per hour and is suitable for a roof area of up to 150m². The yield varies according to the consumption profile of each house, as well as the climatic conditions and the volume of the tanks. During heavy rains, a roof of 100m² will allow up to 15,000 liters of water to be stored, avoiding erosion and saving money.

The company that markets ChoveChuva estimates that an individual can save 900,000 liters of water on average each year and up to 50% on his bill. The water from this filtering is considered safe according to Ordinance 2914 of the Brazilian Ministry of Health.

A sustainable investment according to the company, for the equivalent of 1.75 euros per day. An effective way to preserve the precious resource that is water while gaining autonomy and having a supply of drinking water at home.
