CIROBOTICS is an Ivorian startup that works in the design of Network-IT Equipment, we invite you to share their vision through this interview.

When did the creation of CIROBOTICS, your Start-up, go back?

Created in March 2012, the fundamental objective of CIROBOTICS is to provide companies and SMIs / SMEs with “tailor-made” IT services adapted to their financial capacity. CIROBOTICS wants to be present at the rendezvous of economic construction and development of the Ivory Coast through its cutting-edge technology and the dynamism of its qualified workforce from renowned renowned schools, notably the INP-HB . From the standard services of software development, we have taken a more innovative step which consists in the design and sale of computer network equipment to companies. To this end, we have designed and marketed a bandwidth manager called Bilkiss NetController.

What need does your product meet?

Before starting my own account, I was in charge of band management with an internet service provider. I frequently received complaints from customers regarding the slowness observed. Some customers went so far as to think that the subscribed speed was not provided, yet after audit we realized that the customer’s internet connection was polluted by excessive peer-to-peer downloads, music activities / online video etc…

In short, we have found that users are 90% engaged in non-productive activities for the company. Some companies to solve the problem used a speed increase but they quickly found themselves facing the same problem of slowness. The question was then “How to manage Bandwidth to control the associated costs” The existing bandwidth management equipment was operator class and therefore unaffordable for businesses.

From then on, my objective was to design equipment as efficient as that existing but adapted to corporate budgets.

Our bandwidth management solution provides a very low-cost response to this problem of optimizing / managing bandwidth, which is a real headache for network administrators.

How do you intend to market your product?

To market we wish, we rely on Internet service providers. Because ISPs can easily identify customers who have band saturation problems and offer our solution directly. To do this we have developed an attractive business model for ISPs, in which the ISP benefits from distributor prices. Our solution then becomes for them a value-added product. We also prospect our coter.

At the moment we are only in agreement with ORANGE-CIT.

Do you already have customers who use your product?

For the moment there are 10 customers who use our solution including 3 ORANGE-CIT customers.

Clients who have trusted us are among others FRATMAT, AFRICA WEST INDUSTRY, HOTEL PERGOLA, LA FIF. To quote only those.

What are your immediate goals?

Our immediate objective is to establish partnerships in the countries of the sub-region to be able to sell in these countries.

What are your daily challenges?

On a daily basis we have to convince ITs that our solution is reliable, effective. Most ITs are skeptical when they learn that BILKISS is designed in CI because the design of this kind of equipment requires technology and knowledge of network protocols that are thought to be out of the reach of Africans. We succeeded in doing so and our solution is effective and proven in the environment in which the models sold operate.
