Mr. Sall presented the sharing of the results of Fatick’s first caravan, which was held from July 8 to 14, and had mobilized 36 volunteers. The coordinator of the said program recalled that Information and Communication Technology (ICT) and tele-services contribute about 10% to Senegal’s gross domestic product.
“Very often, in our country, the problem of means is a hindrance and your voluntary commitment helps to annihilate this problem,” said Mr.Sall. With this program, said Sall, 120 volunteers will commit, over two years, to serve across the country to meet the challenge of access and availability of ICT skills.
Mr. Seth Sall welcomed the 1st test phase of the Fatick region. “Our goal was achieved thanks to the courage and patience of our 36 volunteers”, also he praised the commitment of the population of Fatick, who according to him joined the digital program.
Young graduates including computer engineers and technicians in this field form, among other things, the body of these digital volunteers, said the coordinator of the said program. For him, it will be a matter of traveling through a caravan throughout the country, targeting socio-professional groups and categories, but also vulnerable groups across all 14 regions.
