The MTN Challenge Entrepreneurship By JUMIA is making great strides. Indeed, it was held this Friday, April 08, 2016, a pitch of entrepreneurs who have thus presented their projects to the general public in a sumptuous setting offered to them by the African Institute of Management in Dakar.

As a reminder, the competition concerns students from more than 60 universities in 13 African countries and invites them to develop a simple and intelligent digital solution to address a concrete problem on the continent.

Young people across the continent had submitted their big ideas online and in each country, seven teams were shortlisted and invited to pitch before a jury made up of experts from the African digital ecosystem.

In Senegal, after the presentations, two teams were selected. It is “Azerty School”, a project which aims to develop education in Africa with video content and a data management platform for schools and universities. But also of “AywaJieune”, an e-commerce platform which offers home delivery services of fishery products and links between sellers and buyers of these products.

The holders of two projects will spend a week in South Africa where they will attend the Festival of Entrepreneurship at the University of Cape Town Graduate School of Business on May 27, 2016. The finalists will then have to pitch their projects to the great jury of entrepreneurs, business leaders, investors and international media. They will have a chance to win $ 25,000, as well as expert support and mentorship.

To Ms. Sassoum NIANG, Manager Director of JUMIA Senegal, to tell the other project leaders, even those not selected that “the members of the jury remain at their disposal and will support them in refining their project idea”.

Rejoignez-nous ! LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/boubacardiallo
