The Guinean government launched in 2015 the project “one student, one tablet”. Pursuant to this project, the French company EVI had been mandated by the Guinean government to manufacture Sincery.
Sincery is a Guinean educational tablet designed to improve the university education of students in the country. This tablet gives them free access to the courses of the best universities in the world, to numerous reference works in digital format and to many educational platforms via a 3G internet connection.
Since October 2015, Sincery has been distributed by the Guinean company GMI. Only students in training on Guinean territory (national and foreign) can obtain it. For this, the student must write a request addressed to the Director of the microfinance institution Jatropha SA, partner of the “one student, one tablet” project. The request must be accompanied by the student’s university badge. Then he has to pay the $ 75 that the tablet costs. The sum can be paid in cash, but the Guinean government has provided an alternative for students who cannot obtain it. For the latter, the $ 75 will be divided by the number of months the student has yet to spend at university. The sum obtained will be withdrawn, each month, from the scholarship or any other student allowance from which benefits those who wish to obtain the tablet.
We bet that this new teaching tool will help improve the educational performance of Guineans.
