Entrepreneurship is now on the curriculum in Ivory Coast, the Minister of National Education (MEN) Kandia Camara announced in Yamoussoukro on Monday at the opening of the seminar on the implementation of the system support for school entrepreneurship, explaining that it will give learners additional skills, with a view to achieving their social and professional future.
Ms. Kandia stressed that it is necessary for the Ivorian education system to be reviewed to take into account the realities of the moment, notably school entrepreneurship, an “educational approach” to reinforce pedagogical achievements and socio-educational and cooperative activities, but also an essential pillar in the construction of the emerging Ivory Coast. This is in response to two major problems, “namely the question of dropping out of school and employability in an Africa which is fighting both energetically and against illiteracy”.
“A project of such scope can only have a happy and profitable outcome for the whole nation on the sole condition that there exists around this vision a synergy of action both between school, family and the whole community, “said the Minister of National Education in the presence of his colleague from National Entrepreneurship and the Promotion of SMEs Azoumana Moutayé came to support the project.
Kandia Camara urged partners and companies to make school entrepreneurship a priority, so that imbued with this concept, young Ivorians invest themselves and become new entrepreneurs, aware of their responsibilities as self-reliant citizens. employ and who employ other citizens.
School entrepreneurship is part of the national strategy for the development of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) called Phoenix. The seminar to implement the support system for school entrepreneurship ends on Thursday. It is an opportunity for experts to define the educational objectives which should serve as a basis for the construction of courses aimed at developing the spirit of entrepreneurship, to identify the areas that fascinate young people, to know their potential, to ” innovate, act positively on their environment, and allow them to live an entrepreneurial experience.
