The French Development Agency and Orange Mali, through the NGO Aide et Action, launched the “Learning by ICT” project on Thursday 28 April. This is to improve the professional skills of 840 fundamental teachers and the quality of primary education in the Sikasso region, especially in the Sikasso and Koutiala CAPs.
The project plans to create online and offline educational resources on mathematics and other sciences. The project will provide 720 teachers with printed booklets, files and videos, then 120 school directors with booklets to administer and lead the teaching teams. In addition, 24 tutors will be trained in the use of ICT, 2 pedagogical advisers will have strengthened capacities, 9 groupings by CAP will be organized, 168 school visits will be made by the 24 tutors and 01 platform accessible via the web will be commissioning. As expected results, the project aims to bring 720 teachers in 120 primary schools in the Sikasso region to develop teaching methods that facilitate learning in science and mathematics and use a language better suited to the teaching of disciplines. The project also aims to improve the pedagogical supervision strategies and approaches of primary schools. Housed in the directorate of normal education, this project, which will take place on the cape of Sikasso and Koutiala, will concern pupils and teachers of the 5th and 6th fundamental years. The academies and cap will take care of the human resources choices and Orange Mali will take care of the technical design, the analysis of the technical reports and the design of the perception surveys.
THE 14TH WORLD DAY ON SAFETY AND HEALTH AT WORK
Like the international community, Mali celebrated, Thursday, April 28, 2016 at the CICB, the 14th world day on safety and health at work and as well as the 20th African day of prevention of professional risks. It was on the themes: “stress at work: a global challenge” for the World Day on Safety and Health at work and “JAP, 20 years at the service of the promotion of Health and Safety at work : results and perspectives ”for the African Day for the Prevention of Professional Risks. The opening ceremony chaired by Mr. Hamadoun Konaté, Minister of Solidarity, Humanitarian Action and Reconstruction of the North took place in the presence of several INPS officials. According to Minister Konaté, the 14th World Day for Safety and Health at Work and the 20th African Day for the Prevention of Occupational Risks were born from the will and determination of the Institutions responsible for the promotion of decent work to work tirelessly in search of global and efficient solutions to the protection problems of our workers, in particular those related to professional risks. He added that nowadays, Accidents at Work and Occupational Diseases seriously affect the working population and weigh heavily on our economies. In 2008, for example, he said there were more than 5,000 people a day worldwide who died on the job as a result of a work accident or occupational disease. In Mali, in the private sector alone, and in 2015 alone, more than 500 occupational injuries were recorded, generating more than 500 million in compensation. Bamako’s roadmap for an action plan for youth in the G5 Sahel countries
It was on the theme “Youth of the G5 Sahel in a context of rising radicalization and violent extremism: current situation and perspectives”, that was held in Bamako from April 26 to 28, 2016 the session of Ministers in charge of Youth of the G5 Sahel, preceded by the meeting of experts. The opening ceremony, chaired by Malian Prime Minister Modibo Keïta, took place in the presence of the G5 Sahel permanent secretary, El Hadj Mohamed Najim, the European Union special representative for the Sahel, Angel Lossada and the UNDP country director, Boubou Dramane Camara. Also present were the Malian Minister of Youth, Employment, Vocational Training and Citizen Building, Mahamane Baby, and several members of the government. This meeting was part of the implementation of the recommendations of the Heads of State of the G5 Sahel and made it possible to make the diagnosis of the problems which arise with the youth of the countries of this space. It made it possible to take stock of the policies and solutions implemented in each country in the area of youth promotion. The meeting also proposed appropriate responses to the problems diagnosed and validated the terms of reference for a study on the development of an integrated youth strategy with an action plan. It also set up a steering committee for the integrated youth strategy for the G5 Sahel countries and proposed an agenda for implementing decisions and recommendations.

CELEBRATION OF THE DAY OF MAY 1
As part of the celebration of International Workers’ Day, the central union of workers of Mali organized, on Friday, April 29, 2016 in the conference hall of the labor exchange, a press point. On the agenda, inform the national opinion on the results of the 17 points of agreement between the CNPM, the government and the UNTM, on October 28, 2014. The press point moderated by Yacouba Katilé, Secretary General of the UNTM took place in the presence of several members of the central office of the UNTM. Foundation stone laid for 1,000 social housing units for soldiers in Kati-Kambila
The Ministry in charge of Town planning in collaboration with that in charge of Defense proceeded on Saturday, April 30, 2016 in Kati Kambila, the laying of the first stone of 1000 social housing entirely dedicated to the military. The ceremony brought together Mr. Tiéman Hubert Coulibaly, Minister in charge of Defense, Mr. Dramane Dembélé, Minister in charge of Town Planning and several other personalities. The 1,000 dwellings will be built on an area of 37 hectares at a total cost of 11 billion francs. The duration of the realization is 12 months. For this accommodation, there will be two types of houses, namely: type F3 and type F4. The site will also house schools, health centers and places of worship.
