On the social network Facebook, subscribers of the mobile operator Orange, through the group “ARNAQUE DO TOUFFI DIARR”, called for a boycott of the company’s services for 24 hours. The movement which is announced from October 1 to 2, 2015, the unhappy consumers who organize it explain that it translates their protest against the too high tariffs of the leading operator of telecoms.

The claimants believe that Orange “scams” through its prices. During the boycott day, they call on all customers who feel “cheated” by the telecom company not to buy communication credit from it, not to make or receive calls, let alone text messages on its network. Beyond the reduction in tariffs, the group of angry subscribers are also demanding the lifting of “mobile restrictions such as call transfers and many other services”.

According to the latest statistics from the Telecommunications and Post Regulatory Authority (Artp), Orange is the leading operator of mobile telephony in Senegal with more than 7 million subscribers in a country of 14,819,053 lines.

CEO AfrikaTech

Rejoignez-nous ! LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/boubacardiallo
