African founders and African investors operate in rapidly changing markets and transform the continent. By unlocking these opportunities, Africa-focused investors are developing unique approaches to investing. The organizers have chosen “The African Way to Investing” as the theme for this year’s event. How do these pioneering investors operate and what is the “African way of investing”? How is the venture capital model adapted to support innovation on the continent? How do African venture capitalists structure funds, control costs in markets with limited liquidity and develop exit opportunities? What is done to greatly increase the number of local angel investors? What instruments enable investors in the diaspora to play an active role? This year’s summit is where investors and business leaders come together to debate these issues, share best practices and jointly define the roadmap for the future.
