Burkina Faso has just benefited from a project of 6,176 million euros, more than 4 billion CFA francs to promote women’s entrepreneurship in the sustainable energy sector, said Sunday the Ministry of Energy. According to a source of ABS, the three-year project (2018-2021) has just been launched and aims, inter alia, to increase women’s jobs and incomes in the sustainable energy sector, to promote equality, to improve working and living conditions and women’s well-being by facilitating access to technologies.
“More specifically, it aims to promote a social and institutional environment conducive to women’s entrepreneurship in this sector,” notes the Ministry of Energy in a statement.
Set up by the NGO Christian Aid, the project, in addition to Burkina Faso, intervenes in three other countries of the world, namely Ethiopia, Honduras and Malawi.
In Burkina Faso, the project funded by the European Union (EU) 80% and 20% Christian Aid, will benefit more than 3,000 women directly and indirectly more than 3 million people.
