According to a recent report by Global Tech Media WeeTracker, African startups have completed 118 deals and raised $ 168.6 million in financing between January and June 2018. Kenyan startups in second place, in terms of number of transactions (23 deals) managed to raise the most financing across the continent, or $ 82.86 million.

The highest amount of funding awarded to an African startup from January to June 2018 is $ 47.5 million. This resource has been allocated to Cellulant, a Kenyan startup that provides online payment services.

M-Kopa Solar, a Kenyan startup that distributes electrical energy on demand, has the third highest amount, $ 10 million.
