The University of Nairobi’s Kenyan start-up accelerator, CADLab, has signed a partnership with UNICEF to encourage young people to turn to innovation and entrepreneurship. In this perspective, a laboratory will be built to introduce children to the creation and marketing of the products they have designed.
A judicious partnership in a country renowned for being a center of innovation in Africa. “Kenya is recognized as a breeding ground for tech geniuses in East and South Africa. In a country where children make up over 60% of the population, the need to innovate has never been greater, “said UNICEF Representative in Kenya Dr Pirkko Heinonen at Disrupt Africa. An initiative that is part of a global policy of the UN institution dedicated to children to invest in the development of technologies in Africa. In February, UNICEF had already created a fund with $ 9 million US intended to finance start-ups in emerging markets that develop solutions that improve the daily lives of children around the world.
