On August 11, Guinean President Alpha Conde, accompanied by the governor of the Central Bank of Guinea, Dr. Lounceny Nabé, welcomed Tony Elumelu, president of the UBA group, promoter of the Tony Elumelu Foundation. (TEF), as well as the Guinean beneficiaries of the 2018 edition of the Foundation’s Entrepreneurship Program.
In this reception, Tony Elumelu officially introduced the Guinean entrepreneurs from TEF to President Condé, while reaffirming his belief that entrepreneurship is the main driver of Africa’s transformation. Opportunity was also given to him to appreciate the dynamism of the agricultural sector of this country. “The Guinean agricultural sector has great potential to create jobs in the country. Seven of the thirteen Guinean beneficiaries of the Tony Elumelu Foundation Entrepreneurship Program are agricultural entrepreneurs, “he said.
In line with its economic philosophy based on Africapitalism, which proposes a private sector-based approach, to achieve sustainable development in Africa, it has also committed to exploring new investment opportunities in the Guinean private sector.
At the end of his speech, Tony Elumelu did not fail to thank President Alpha Condé for hosting the TEF entrepreneurs, as well as for his interest in youth, and the ultimate impact of the TEF program on Guinea.
Sharing this ambitious plan to attract more investment in the agricultural sector, with a view to creating new job opportunities in Guinea, President Condé, in turn, hailed the Tony Elumelu Foundation’s investments in Guinea, and the whole continent.
