The youngest candidate for the 2017 Baccalaureate in Benin, Peace Delaly Nicoué, is admitted.
He said he was “happy” and “relieved” after the results were announced.
Prevented from composing in the normal session due to his age, the little boy was allowed to take part in the replacement session.
It took the mobilization of his parents between the Baccalaureate Office and the Presidency of the Republic for a waiver to be granted.
He had obtained the Brevet d’études du premier cycle, BEPC, at the age of 9.
An atypical course that his father, Parfait Afoutou Nicoué, Schoolteacher, explains to the BBC: “When he was 4, he could write flawlessly French and English, so I decided to enroll him in a school. bilingual ”.
Delaly was admitted to the 4th grade at the age of 7.
The young boy’s dream now is to continue his studies in an English-speaking country.
