About a hundred manufacturers took part in a training seminar on industrial process automation yesterday. Organized by Codex Négoce and Siemens, this meeting was an opportunity for participants to discover the latest technological innovations in this area.

In Senegal, 80% of the industrial park facilities are made up of Siemens automation processes. The day before yesterday, the German group, in partnership with Codex Négoce Senegal, organized the seminar to bring manufacturers who use its technology to the scent of the latest innovations in this area and its new policy in sub-Saharan Africa their intention. This meeting, which brought together a hundred participants from the three local cement factories, the automotive and chemical industries, the agro-food industries, etc., is, according to Mohamed Safieddine, a first of its kind in Senegal. “This is the first time that this kind of seminar has been held in Senegal and it is to allow this company and the industrialists who use its technology to discuss new innovations. Because, let’s not forget, the vast majority of Senegalese industries use Siemens automation, “said the director general of Codex Trading. Codex Trading is a central purchasing office, its managing director maintained that its concern is to create a direct link between manufacturers and manufacturers, to become intermediaries between those who manufacture a finished product and those who manufacture machine components. Thus, this type of meeting, Mohamed Safieddine intends to organize it once a year. “We want to make this seminar an annual meeting because technology does not wait, it advances every day and there are constantly new products. It is therefore imperative to help industrialists to keep abreast of the evolution of technology, “he said.
Marc Dauville, Siemens Sub-Saharan Africa Manager for Industry Development, has the same trumpet. He believes that it is important to train and strengthen the capacities of Senegalese industrialists in the face of the increasingly rapid progress of technological innovations. This, especially since most of them use his company’s integrated automation and control systems. “Today, we want to support local businesses in terms of service, purchasing and why not in projects. The distance from Europe being an inhibiting factor, it is necessary to have a relay here in Senegal, said Mr. Dauville.
Automation is everything that drives the industry. It concerns the areas of competence of industrial control ranging from the design of installations, to the realization through operation and maintenance.
