The short video of the electric “car” created by a young Burkinabè student had been around the web for a few weeks. This Monday, September 19, 2016, Burkina24 met the “genius”, Aboul-Rafat Ouédraogo, the inventor of what should be called the first electric car in Burkina.

Shy, with a fleeting look, Aboul-Rafat Ouédraogo has just recently obtained a F3 baccalaureate (electrical engineering). In this series, he styled all the candidates with an “exceptional” average of 15.85 / 20. His performance was praised by the President of Faso in person.

The inventor of Burkina’s first electric car was a student at the Lycée Polytechnique Privé du Kadiogo (LPPK), since now a bachelor, evaluated his investment for the design of this car at 600,000 CFA francs. “It was possible with the contribution of my father,” he says.

An innovative wardrobe

Aboul-Rafat Ouédraogo, 19, not only invented the first electric car in Burkina. This technical buff also developed a cabinet with electric openings. With just one button and 30 seconds of patience, the cabinet opens fully.

For prospects, he said, “the idea is there. It remains to be perfected and this is only possible through training in a quality university. If there is the possibility, I will give my best to do even better, “said Aboul-Rafat Ouédraogo as an appeal.

Georges Simporé, professor of electrical engineering at the Lycée Polytechnique Privé du Kadiogo (LPPK), is full of praise for his student, Aboul-Rafat Ouédraogo. But the bottom line for him, he says, is to encourage the initiative to make it work. Notice therefore to goodwill.
