WeCashUp, a Fintech Made in Africa project
Entirely thought out and developed by Cédric and his team of engineers and financiers, WeCashUp meets several fundamental needs:
allow people without a card or bank account to have easy access to online shopping,
allow e-merchants to extend their deployment area and thus acquire new markets (Africa, a market that is difficult to access for e-merchants),
secure transactions for both consumers and merchants

Meeting the needs of the African consumer
If this project has a universal scope, it was first to meet the needs of the African continent that it was developed. Indeed, despite the technological developments that revolutionize the Western market and especially despite the explosion of online shopping in Europe, Africa is still little advanced in this area. And yet the continent is full of opportunities.
“Out of more than 1 billion people in 2016, there are still around 800 million without a bank account and no online payment method. Yet 400 million of them have mobile phones and are already using mobile payment solutions such as M-PESA, Orange Money, MTN Mobile Money, Airtel Money etc. Also, by 2020 the Internet penetration rate will reach 52% and more which means that people in Africa have more and more access to the internet, access online shopping sites but cannot pay simply because they do not offer them online mobile payment ”So, and in view of this potential, Africa can be described as a“ still sleeping market ”which needs to be boosted.

A project that has already been the subject of numerous distinctions, including that of the best innovative start-up in the world in 2014 at the Google I / O Pitch Night in Silicon Valley (USA), TOP30 of the best startups in Europe in Frankfort in Germany on March 8 and who is wondering if WeCashUp will be ranked as the best Startup in Europe at this big gathering in Amsterdam?
