Objis, a group of Java programming experts founded by Douglas Mbiandou, had the brilliant idea of bringing together programmers and non-programmers to create synergy between them: the African Geek. The idea is to allow everyone to have the same skills in order to break the taboos around the programming that often passes for a manhunt when even women are highly capable. It is no longer enough to have made a scientific series to become a programmer, but anyone can do it […]

10,000 coders within 10 years

Much more than a mission, it is a challenge that Objis has launched since 2015 and which intends to see its point of completion in 2025. It will therefore be 1000 coders who will be trained each year to either meet needs on the market ; either to innovate by responding to an existing social need.

It is by targeting problems specific to their immediate environment that Africans are able to provide creative and innovative solutions. Douglas Mbiandou, president of Objis Cameroon reiterated in his remarks: “African youth must be instrumental in the digital transformation of the continent”. Speaking of target, given the quality of the panel invited, the measure could only be serious. Editorial teams such as the Je Wanda Magazine group; CKoment Publishing; a group of creators of the adventure video game Kiro’o Games; banking establishments like Afriland First Bank; digital brands such as Kaymu and Axxentis doing business consultancy served as agents of digital success in Africa.

10,000 Developers (2)

According to Cyprien Tankeu, Regional Mentor Afrique francophone of Google Developers Group (GDG), this measure is welcome. He explains: “You have to take into account the realities of each country to provide training. Cameroon is open and full of potential and it is only through training that they can shine. “ Among the videos presented and available on Youtube, a vibrant tribute was paid to Arthur Zang, creator of the CardioPad, an innovation that is changing lives around the world and which other African entrepreneurs should learn from.

CEO AfrikaTech

Rejoignez-nous ! LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/boubacardiallo
