The NGO Africa Rice announced, on April 07, 2016, the launch of RiceAdvice. It’s a tablet with an app to help farmers grow rice. It allows, among other things, to choose the best fertilizers among those available on the market, based on the area and the current season. RiceAdvice, plans to boost the yield of rice activities located in the area from Senegal to Nigeria by 20%. More than 12,000 producers are targeted by these changes, and the program will create many jobs.
According to the press release from Africa Rice, this tablet is a “decision-making tool, providing farmers with specific crop management guidelines for rice production systems in Africa”.
