Sierra Leonean Moses Bangura, for his doctorate in aerial robotics, designed a system of civilian drones whose purpose is to make deliveries of drugs and transport biological samples. The invention could have been of great use at a time when the Ebola epidemic had severely affected certain countries in West Africa, including Sierra Leone.

“We realized the great poverty of the healthcare delivery system. The system designed is very reliable and solid, in open source code, that anyone can develop, ”commented Moses Bangura.

The young inventor, eager to serve his continent, further clarified that the system consisted of a multi-rotor aircraft, capable of landing or taking off independently, without the need for an airstrip or launch. It was, according to him, the best option to make it reliable.

Thanks to this invention, Moses Bangura won the Next Einstein Forum (NEF) competition, which was held in Senegal from March 8 to 10 and rewards the best African innovation which “solves a big problem for humanity”. As such, he will take part in the final of the Falling Walls Lab which will take place in November 2016 in Berlin, a competition for the 100 best innovations in the world, during which he will have the opportunity to present his system again.

CEO AfrikaTech

Rejoignez-nous ! LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/boubacardiallo
