The “AppsTogo” competition launched on September 1, 2015 by the Ministry of Posts and Digital Economy to reward the best innovative and useful applications “made in Togo” now knows its winners. Out of 91 applications, 33 applications were selected and 8 were awarded this Tuesday, May 17 during a major award ceremony in Lomé.
Subdivided into 3 categories, the competition was chaired by an international jury. In the first category “Developers or groups of independent developers”, the TogoAGRO application, which aims to be a messaging platform dedicated to inter-state trade in the agrifood sector, won the first prize worth 2,000,000 Fcfa. It is followed by SOS System (platform that allows geolocation and processing of claims and facilitates speed in the intervention of rescuers) and EcolesTogo (platform for connecting actors of
education) cut the second (1,000,000 Fcfa) and third (500,000 Fcfa) respectively.
In the “Developers or group of developers presented by their higher education institution” category, the eDiari application (application that automatically organizes and changes your phone’s ring profiles depending on the time and place) presented by students of the African Institute of Computer Science of Togo (IAI-Togo) won the first prize worth 2,000,000 FCFA. Second place (1,000,000 FCFA) went to the Police Help application also presented by students of IAI-Togo which wants to allow better management of controls and incidents by the police by facilitating real-time communication with the base. The BitGuide application, which wants to facilitate the registration of Togolese companies by giving economic operators the possibility of registering via their platform, won the third prize worth 500,000 FCFA. It was presented by students from the Graduate School of Management of Computer Science.

In the special category “Pharo Developer”, the Adotcall application which wants to provide services from a directory of mobile numbers, open to all types of profile; won the first prize worth 3,000,000 FCFA.
In addition to the prizes in the 3 categories, the jury awarded a favorite prize to the Amphimillion application, which aims to facilitate access to courses for students, improve time management for teachers and resolve the lack of places in amphitheatres. The application received an envelope of 500,000 FCFA.
