Vice Chancellor of the university located in Juja, about 30 km from the capital of Nairobi, Mabel Imbuga said about the product: “Taifa Laptop is the product of collaborative research by progressive stakeholders like the government of Kenya that has a shared vision of making the country not only a strong economy, but also a hotbed of technological innovation. ”

If the computer was imagined and assembled in Kenya, it was however made in China; its creation is the result of a partnership with the Chinese company Inspur. To support the local production of Taifa and the success of the company, an assembly line should be built by September 2015 at Nairobi Industrial and Technology Park, located in Juja, like the university.
The Taifa works on Windows 8.1 OS, has a Webcam, a 4th generation i3 microprocessor, a microphone, three USB ports, an HDMI port to connect it to a television with a hard drive of 500 GB, 4GB memory, 14 inch LCD screen, WiFi, SD card slot, six cell battery
