Created by Abdoulaye Diallo, a young Malian lawyer, LEGALSOBA is a platform for generating legal services for companies based on OHADA law. Its objective is to bring together users of the site and legal experts.

Tell us a bit about yourself
I am Abdoulaye DIALLO, I am 24 years old, I am a lawyer in business law and passionate about the web and entrepreneurship. 2 years ago when I was in master 1 I decided to learn to code in the hope of starting my own website.
I work with two other engineers. One is specialized in web marketing, the other in web development, while I am in charge of drafting legal content, together we work to address the challenges and shortcomings relating to law in Africa.
Tell us about your project and its origin?
Our project is LEGALSOBA an online legal services platform for businesses in the OHADA zone. Currently, on LEGALSOBA, you can create online personalized legal documents that comply with OHADA law (therefore usable in the 17 member countries).
In 2013, 2014, I saw the emergence of legatech (legal startups) in France. Many proposed the generation of legal documents for businesses. I wanted to do the same for my country Mali when I realized that the law I had to comply with to carry out the documents was OHADA law, a law applicable in 17 countries in French-speaking Africa. This is where I got the idea to create an online legal document generator for the OHADA zone.
How is your platform useful?
The problem solved by LEGALSOBA is the inaccessibility to Law, to basic legal services, from which companies in Africa suffer. By giving them the possibility of creating reliable legal documents because they are written and reviewed by lawyers, easily, quickly and simply; we hope to meet at least part of the legal needs of businesses in the OHADA zone. We do not intend to stop there, we are about to offer more legal services online.
What is your short term goal?
The next step is to set up a real platform for connecting our users and legal experts.
What made you come to Afrikatech?
We need as much exposure as possible in order to inform African entrepreneurs that there is now a quality, simple and inexpensive alternative to their legal hassles. We also need platform testers and feedback from entrepreneurs in general to improve and flesh out our service.
