The Mauritian company Birger, which specializes in providing solutions, technological services and cyber security, has opened an office in Rwanda. Already present in Comoros, Madagascar, Seychelles and Rodrigues as well as in Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania, its installation in Rwanda is the materialization of its desire for expansion, reports the site Eco Austral.
Birger wants to make Rwanda its regional point for East Africa. To this end, the company relies on the know-how and expertise acquired through its partnerships with two world leaders in cyber security, Symantec and Entrust Datacard.
Beyond Africa, Birger also has International ambitions. Jacques Harel, the company’s CEO, explained in an interview with Eco Austral in June 2015 that it is already looking to the Maldives and Sri Lanka. It is by keeping in mind this ambition to open up to the international market that Birger, then called Blanche Birger, shortened its name in 1991.
Certain that his strategic expansion actions in Africa and abroad will benefit him, Birger launched a five-year plan for the period 2012-2017 to achieve growth in turnover of 50%.
