An ecosystem favorable to the creation of a large number of start-ups remains to be built.

Algeria, like many countries in the world, will celebrate entrepreneurship week from November 16 to 22. Napeo Algeria, the local structure of Napeo, the American initiative to promote entrepreneurship in North Africa, is organizing the GEW-2015 event. She has programmed for this edition 3,000 activities in 48 wilayas. The presence of 700 partners between universities, grandes écoles, ministries, relevant agencies (Ansej, Cnac) and 350,000 participants (students, officials, representatives of institutions and public agencies, teachers, entrepreneurs, project leaders, etc.) is expected. ). This event is gaining momentum.
During Gew-2014, “Napeo Algeria recorded the presence of 467 partners and 200,000 participants. It organized 2,205 activities in 48 wilayas. Biskra, elected first nationally in number of activities, is followed by Skikda, Algiers, Guelma and Oran, “said
Ms. Rachedi, the organizational manager of GEW-2015. In 2011, GEW’s activities covered only 5 wilayas. This edition programs 7 main activities: in particular the campus ambassadors, Media days, women entrepreneurship, entrepreneurs days, start-ups, cup. The head of the organization said at the opening ceremony held yesterday at the El-Aurassi hotel that 41 campuses have their ambassadors.
Translate: 41 universities or university centers have their representatives to promote entrepreneurship in the country. Media Days will take place from Wednesday, November 18 at the Graduate School of Journalism in Ben Aknoun, Women Event (promotion of entrepreneurship among women) will take place at the house of science at the University of Bab Ezzouar, days of entrepreneurs focused in particular on the recovery of waste at the University of Oran, the start-up Cup in Oran (the cut of the best business plans intended to create its own start-up or young innovative company). At the July 5 stadium in Algiers, there will be a competition for the best start-up. The planned ring will be the stage where start-up promoters will oppose (Who will have the best idea for starting a young business?)
Ms. Rachedi recalled that Algeria, through Napeo Algeria, took second place among a large number of countries at the Milan World Entrepreneurship Congress in March 2015 for the density of activities organized during GEW-2014. This distinction rewards Napeo Algeria’s efforts to promote entrepreneurship. She insisted on the indispensable support of the public institutions which, in her opinion, contributed to the success of these events.
In the process, the Minister of Labor, Ali Ghazi, succinctly presented the results of the state’s actions in promoting entrepreneurship in Algeria. He indicated that our country has 50 entrepreneurial houses in universities. “As of September 30, 2015, the Ministry of Labor recorded the creation through the Ansej and Cnac schemes of 475,000 micro-enterprises which have enabled the creation of 1,100,000 jobs (since the creation of these agencies). Which earned Algeria fourth place at the Milan World Entrepreneurship Congress, “he added.
But do not be fooled, if progress has been made in promoting entrepreneurship and the creation of young companies, there is still a long way to go to build an ecosystem that can encourage the creation of many of start-ups, in short the critical mass of young companies, which can help stimulate the country’s economic growth.
