On 8 August 2018, the Virtual University of Senegal (UVS) and IBM signed a memorandum of understanding for the deployment of the “Digital Nation Africa” program in Senegal. The agreement is part of IBM’s “Digital Nation Africa” program, an initiative launched by IBM, the multinational IT company. It aims to improve digital skills, especially among young Africans, by providing them with a freely accessible online learning environment in the IBM cloud.

Thus, “Digital Nation Africa” offers a wide range of enabling resources, ranging from the basics of computer science to more advanced skills that are highly sought after.

The UVS, which aims to put digital technologies at the service of the population, will offer all its technical expertise for online learning. It will provide resources and skills to facilitate access to IBM’s digital resources. It will also support users to take control of the IBM digital platform through its monitoring and tutoring system.

This partnership will enable students to discover social communities, digital privacy and cyber-protection. Advanced users will be able to explore career computing topics including programming, cybersecurity, data science, agile methodologies, critical thinking, innovation and entrepreneurship.

In addition, “Digital Nation Africa” aims to promote the citizens, entrepreneurs and communities of Africa through the provision of knowledge and tools necessary for design and development with the aim of enabling them to launch their own solutions. digital.

Since Africa’s future is digital, IBM sees IT education as a key driver of the continent’s economic development, and today IBM is actively rolling out the curriculum across the continent.
