The 38-year-old boss is the first sub-Saharan official to be elected president of the Center for Young Business Leaders (CJD) International. He takes over from Tunisian Slim Ben Ammar.
Pope Landing Mané was elected on Friday, January 22, in Paris, president of the Center for Young Business Leaders (CJD) International, for a non-renewable two-year term.
Heir to the Center des jeunes patrons – created in Paris in 1938 with the objective of “rehabilitating the employers’ function” and “putting the economy at the service of man” -, this professional and associative movement today brings together nearly 5,000 entrepreneurs and senior executives from the private sector spread across 15 countries, including France, Morocco, Tunisia, Algeria, Mauritania, Cameroon, Benin, Senegal, Côte d’Ivoire and Madagascar.
At 38, Pape Landing Mané is the fifth president of CJD International. He is the first leader from sub-Saharan Africa elected to this position where he takes over from Tunisian Slim Ben Ammar, managing director of Sodexo Tunisia. Among his predecessors are the Moroccan Zakaria Fahim, the French Gontran Lejeune and the Tunisian Wafa Makhlouf.
“Increase the influence of local CDJs with public officials”
Engineer, graduated in 2002 from the École supérieure polytechnique de Dakar, he has been managing LQT Consulting, a Dakar-based company specializing in training and advice in quality, health, safety and the environment (QHSE) since 2008, after a stint with the Americans Colgate Palmolive and Pfizer in Dakar.
Before his election as head of CJD International, Pape Landing Mané directed for two years, until mid-2015, CJD Senegal, of which he was one of the co-founders in 2011.
