After an AFRICA HUB won by Moroccan companies, E-COVER, IDIAM and KARANGUE won prizes in two competitions for young entrepreneurs on the sidelines of the Fair.
These are the Senegalese satisfactions of the AFRICA 2016 Hub, their names IDIAM, E-COVER and KARANGUE. Three Senegalese start-ups that have succeeded in winning the pan-African game during the Hackathon of Hub Africa 2016, 24 hours after the Razzia of Moroccan companies. It is IDIAM, “your health” in Pular Malian who opened the way by winning the Hackathon thanks to its is an IT platform allowing to optimize the process of medical appointments by the provision of mobile and Web applications to patients, hospitals and specialists and doctors, details Papa Jean Ndiaye, the group’s presenter. The four (4) team members won the First Prize of the HUB AFRICA Hackathon with an endowment of $ 27,000 in Cloud hosting by Microsft. “It’s a surprise for us because we didn’t expect to win this award. However, we will use this Cloud to store the primary information of our application, because it allows the deployment of the online application, specifies Aly Kandé the other member of the Group.
As for the two other Senegalese companies that won the award, these are honorary distinctions, but which retain all their meaning for its project leaders. Thus, for Mamadou Sall, CEO of KARANGUE “participating in this pitch is an additional experience, it is visibility and recognition of the merit of the project”. As a reminder, KARANGUE is an automatic alert system for the reminder of children’s immunization appointments, prenatal and postnatal visits for mothers. He has won several distinctions and represented Senegal at several international pitches.
The third and last distinguished Senegalese project is E-COVER. He won the jury’s favorite prize. E-COVER is a company which works in the recycling of waste and which has as primary activity the transformation of tires into tiles and floor coverings. E-Cover is short for Environmental Cover promoted by Yaye Souadou Fall and Khady Diallo, two Management and Quality students.
