If economic leadership is gradually accentuated in Africa with a class of young, dynamic and hopeful entrepreneurs, the Gabonese nevertheless remain on the sidelines. In the study revealed a few days ago by the Choiseul Institute, four young Gabonese are the pride of the country. In a 2015 ranking of 200 “African economic leaders of tomorrow” recently published by the Choiseul Institute and largely dominated by the ‘West Africa, East Africa, North Africa, some 22 leaders from Central Africa stand out in the ranking. Among them, four Gabonese: Pascal Houagni-Ambourouet, managing director of the Banque des Valeurs Mobilières d’Afrique centrale (BVMAC), Eric Boundono, chairman and managing director of VocalCenter, Renaud Allogho-Akoue, secretary general of the Ogar group and Cédric Hombouhiry, Managing Director of XLS Systèmes.

These figures are for the Choiseul Institute, the hope “of a modern, internationalized African economy, where opportunities that did not exist yesterday flourish everywhere today”. They hold out hope for futuristic activities on the planet and for continent-specific growth. “These young leaders carry the future of their continent. They offer a message of hope, “said Pascal Lorot, president of the Institute.

Aged 40 and under, the 2015 classifieds were chosen for their image, reputation, background, skills, power, function, influence they exude in the branches of activity in which they excel, networks, the potential and their leadership. As for the study itself, it emphasizes their involvement in the branches of ICT, finance and other services.

The only downside is that no Gabonese female representative is included in this ranking, while the other regions have at least one in the Institute’s prize list.

The Choiseul Institute, is a think-tank created in 1997. It is an independent organization whose scope covers Europe, the Mediterranean and Africa. The Institute is involved in providing the information necessary for economic and political decision.
