Hello Tomorrow, the global organization that helps transform breakthrough innovations into concrete solutions, today announces the opening of applications for the fifth edition of the Global Challenge. The Hello Tomorrow Global Challenge is a well-known startup competition designed to leverage the best early stage and early stage startups projects. Participants can expect non-equity financing, global visibility and connections with key players in the Deeptech ecosystem. All information and application forms can be found here: https://hello-tomorrow.org/startups

Hello Tomorrow was founded in 2013 by Arnaud de la Tour and Xavier Duportet, also founder of Eligo Bioscience. The goal of Hello Tomorrow is to bridge the gap between research and business applications of the deeptech. The two doctors saw during their studies, many missed opportunities for technologies that had the potential to change the world. Indeed, the latter remained confined to laboratories without ever being transformed into concrete applications. So they created Hello Tomorrow so that collaboration between the worlds of business, science, industry and investment encourages the pooling of skills to accelerate the transformation of these technologies into marketable products.

● The Hello Tomorrow Global Challenge was founded in 2013 to provide access to scientific entrepreneurs, engineers and researchers in the field of research, all the funding, visibility and connections they need to have a real
impact.
● Since 2013, the Global Challenge has received more than 13,000 entries from over 100 countries, and nearly 4,000 participants from the 2017 edition only.
● Candidate teams fall into 12 categories: New Space, Aeronautics, New Mobility, Environment, Global Health, Digital Health, Industrial Biotech, Data & AI, Wellbeing, New Materials, Food, Agriculture & Environment and Industry 4.0

“Thanks to their agility and their ability to take risks, startups play a central role in innovation deptech. But they lack the financial resources and the industrial and commercial capacity to move from the proof of concept to the marketed product. That’s why we need to connect these startups with investors, manufacturers, and research labs, “explains Arnaud De la Tour, co-founder and Director of Hello Tomorrow. “The Global Challenge is more than just a competition, it’s the gateway to a global ecosystem that has taken us years to build, allowing deeptech entrepreneurs to have a real impact.”

This year, 500 projects will be selected during the Challenge, on a strong impact criterion and long-term among thousands of applications in the 12 categories. The best start-up early stage will receive the € 100,000 Grand Prize presented by Hello Tomorrow’s global partner, BNP Paribas. The winners in each category will also receive prizes of € 15,000. Startups selected in the Top 500 of the Challenge will also have access to the Hello Tomorrow Global Summit and will be able to meet hundreds of VCs during the Investor Day of March 13, 2019. Worn by the Hello Tomorrow Hubs around the world, several finals will be organized upstream of the Summit in Japan, Singapore, Ghana, Turkey and Brazil. The winners of these local finals will receive air tickets to attend the Global Summit in Paris.

“In the course of history, there has always been technological breakthroughs, from the steam engine to the genome edition, to the bulb and the internet. They all had an impact
deep on our food, our habitat, our work or the way we look after ourselves and interact with others. If these technological revolutions have become integrated into our lives, it is thanks to the meeting between ambitious entrepreneurs and the partners they needed to transform their inventions into real products. “Explains Xavier Duportet, co-founder and President of Hello Tomorrow. “With the challenge, we certainly give the opportunity to the next Louis Pasteur, Bill Gates or Elon Musk to be in the spotlight. But it is even more important for us to create effective interactions between these brilliant scientific entrepreneurs and all the key players – inspiring and experienced mentors, industry leaders, policy makers – to put the odds on their side to change. the world.”

The big winners of previous years are GTX Medical (’14), Biocarbon Engineering (’15), Lilium Aviation (’16) and Saathi (’17) and have respectively found their CEO at the Summit, formed strategic partnerships with industrialists , raised more than 1 million euros with VCs and been named in lists like Forbes 30 under 30 or MIT’s Top 10 Breakthrough technologies.

“Without a shadow of a doubt, Hello Tomorrow is the epicenter of Deeptech innovation. Their network was built from scratch and is now the ideal place if you are a startup and you need a helping hand to take a global dimension “enthuses Patrick Nathen, co-founder of Lilium . “Before our two fundraisers, Hello Tomorrow were the first ones to see beyond our project. There’s nothing like the connections and visibility that Hello Tomorrow gives you. ”

CEO AfrikaTech

Rejoignez-nous ! LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/boubacardiallo
