The Malian Cheick Oumar Bagayoko won the first edition of RFI Challenge App Africa in Dakar with the program “Priorité Santé”. The young doctor and computer scientist had presented his “Bogou” project. It is a tele-expertise application available via a computer connected to the Internet, allowing doctors practicing in remote areas to request specialist advice remotely.
“The case describing the health problem is posted on the platform, which is organized in the form of secure circles” informs RFI who specifies that the winner will receive thanks to partners like Microsoft, Facebook, Orange and Mozilla a grant of 15,000 € intended for development of its digital service, particularly in terms of mobility, across French-speaking Africa.
Cheikh Bagayoko won his prize in front of Alain Nteff from Cameroon with his “Giftedmom” project and Eliphal Balloula Touadi from Congo-Brazzaville with his project “Fongwama”. Special mention was made of the “Karangue” project by Mamadou Sall from (Senegal)
The winner and the finalists were the guests of Claire Hédon, in the special program “Priorité santé” recorded in public at the French Institute in Dakar, broadcast on RFI on Wednesday May 25 at 9:10 am (Dakar time)
As a reminder, Challenge App Afrique aims to support the development of innovative digital services that facilitate access to information and health services in Africa. The first edition “recorded more than 650 applications received from 21 countries in French-speaking Africa.
