Mali: After studying finance, he started farming successfully.

Abdoulaye Coulibaly is standing in his rice field, in Chango, two kilometers from N’Débougou, a town surrounded by green fields, in northern Mali. Mr. Coulibaly’s rice field covers four hectares. He makes rice during the rainy season, but will do a little market gardening during the dry season.

The 25-year-old studied finance and business management in Morocco. He returned to Mali to use his business skills.

He declares: “I have a particular love for this profession, as what I know it is profitable, and I also believe that it is a contribution to the development of Africa, more particularly Mali which has a very great agricultural potential. ”

Mr. Coulibaly grew up on a farm, and was introduced to farming since childhood, so he knows the investment opportunities that farming can offer.

He adds: “I started last year, but currently things have started to move. To me, it’s like a business. So I set a salary, I have employees too. But generally the majority of the employees, I pay them periodically. But I have two permanent maneuvers to monitor my work. ”

Coulibaly sees farming as a useful job and an opportunity to put his entrepreneurial skills to work. He says: “I invite all the young people who are on the” grin “having tea … let everyone fix their gaze on this area, because that is what we can make the country develop. ”

Amadou Boye Coulibaly is the father of Abdoulaye, and he is proud of his son. He says that Abdoulaye already has all the tools to succeed as a farmer because he can read and write. He explains: “For example: you want to grow okra, you go on the Internet or you see research institutes and they give you everything that okra has as characteristics, that is what time of year to cultivate it, what are the farming techniques, what to take as precautions, what is the yield, when to harvest and when you harvest, in what part of your country is the sale happening well, where in the world is the sale, who is the dealer. He argues that there are several resources to promote agriculture, fish farming and poultry farming.

It was this wealth of resources that enabled young Coulibaly to start a successful agricultural business.
