Eight months after its launch, the free classifieds site in French-speaking Africa created a specific service for real estate in five of the eight countries where it is already present.

Barely eight months after its debut, Afrimalin, a free classifieds site in French-speaking Africa, is launching an online real estate agency, according to a press release published on March 10. This new service is available in five countries – Benin, Cameroon, Ivory Coast, Senegal, Guinea – out of the eight, with the DRC, Mali and Burkina Faso, where the site is already present, and is aimed as well to the local population than to the diaspora.

“Afrimalin wants to become a real player in digital real estate in French-speaking Africa,” explains Espoir Dossah, the director of the Benin branch, responsible for piloting the launch of the digital real estate agency. This new service is also a sign of the vitality of our platform. We are continuing to grow at a sustained pace ”.

Tailor-made service

Based in Conakry, Guinea, Afrimalin is strengthening its teams by recruiting sales representatives dedicated to real estate. While in practice, the site already offered advertisements for the rental or purchase of housing, it now allows its users to benefit from a tailor-made service.

Launched in the summer of 2016, Afrimalin managed to complete a fundraising of 400,000 euros barely two months after its launch to finance its development. Its two young founders, Thibault Launay and Romain Girbal, are also behind the launch of the exploration company Alliance Minière Responsable (AMR) based in Guinea and sponsored by the former French Minister of Productive Recovery, Arnaud Montebourg.

This company, which plans to exploit bauxite mines in Guinea, has succeeded in winning over investors such as Xavier Niel, the founder of Iliad, or Anne Lauvergeon, the former boss of Areva.
