As part of its crowdfunding campaign on ULULE (https://en.ulule.com/oniriq/), the OniriQ startup presents its innovative solar kit to connect African families to energy and the internet and announces a partnership with the Energies for the World Foundation.
Startup OniriQ is developing an innovative and eco-responsible solar kit to provide rural African families with access to autonomous energy, the internet and multimedia. ONIRIQ has been working since 2016 in close partnership with the Energies pour le Monde Foundation (FONDEM), expert for 28 years in decentralized rural electrification projects in the South. The solar kit SOLARBOX is currently tested with rural families in Senegal, in the town of Ouonck, where FONDEM has deployed 190 solar installations since 2009, in partnership with a village management committee (CGESO).
On the occasion of the launch of pre-sales of its solar kit1, ONIRIQ and the Energies pour le Monde Foundation are joining forces to launch a pilot project that will make it possible to deploy 15 solar kits equipped with internet access for 15 families. The solar kits will be equipped with a prepayment technology on demand, by mobile phone, which will be operated by the CGESO, in partnership with Orange Senegal. The pilot will last 1 year.
OniriQ will set up a branch in Senegal in the summer of 2018 and will produce its solar kits locally by 2019. More than 50 kits are being tested in the field and a production of 1,000 kits will be launched by the end of 2018 with a deployment to other West African countries in 2019 and 2020.
