“In the Kinyarwanda language, Irembo means door or gate,” says Clément Uwajeneza. We have made direct and permanent access possible between Rwandan citizens and all local and national administrations. Rwandans can, for example, renew their passports, request a new identity card, obtain a copy of their criminal record, a marriage certificate … Growth is exponential: nearly 2,000 Rwandans have consulted their documents online last week. They were less than thirty three months ago. “
Other services like transfer of title deeds are also offered, using just a mobile phone. The payment of management fees related to the use of the platform is almost exclusively via “mobile payment”, thanks in particular to a partnership with the telecom operator Tigo, or otherwise by credit card.
