The French company Total is committed alongside young African entrepreneurs with the assistance of projects called “Startupper of the year by Total”. The competition is open to young project leaders and entrepreneurs from 34 African countries. Registration is done online.
Applicants are free to choose the type of project they want. No category is specified by the organizers.
According to the information collected on the competition site, a jury made up of at least 10 people (including the general managers of Total’s subsidiaries in the country concerned), will identify in each of the 34 countries, a maximum of 10 promoters of finalists considered as the most promising. These finalists will then be invited to come and support their project orally before the jury, which will choose a maximum of 3 winners.
To launch their business project or develop their business of less than two years, the distinguished “Startupper of the year by Total” will benefit from personalized support. At the end of this support, Total will also provide them with financial support for the start or development of their project.
