Blablacar is to France what GoMyWay is to Nigeria. The galloping uberization of services and the collaborative economy are reaching the African continent. The Nigerian ridesharing site GoMyWay is one example.
Launched in 2015 at the initiative of Damilola Teidi and supported by the CEO of Konga, the start-up offers a site on which its members can suggest or book a carpooling trip.
GoMyWay connects drivers with empty seats in their vehicles and passengers looking for economical solutions, on the same route in a country where transport is insufficiently organized.
The site has 6,000 users and has recorded 50,000 trips since 2015. The start-up has already deployed in three countries other than Nigeria: South Africa, Kenya and Ghana.
A source of inspiration for young entrepreneurs in French-speaking countries.
