The event will take place in Johannesburg, South Africa from December 3 to 5, 2019.

Wanting to facilitate the best business and investment opportunities in the region, the Seedstars Summit Africa will bring together its large network of startups, investors, mentors, ambassadors, partners and more than 300 key players in the heart of the continent.

Spread over three days, the Seedstars Summit Africa will start with bootcamps, where startups will receive a mixture of theoretical and practical content on the various growth models and acquisition channels, with the support of the investment team. from Seedstars. The following day, during the Investor Forum, the one-minute pitches of startups from the Seedstars World competition will be followed by individual meetings between investors, mentors and entrepreneurs.

On December 5, the main day of the conference will be organized around networking sessions, as well as thematic workshops in the morning. In the afternoon, the pitches of the finalist startups, interventions of experienced entrepreneurs and Alumni Seedstars, as well as the awards ceremonies will occupy the main stage. To close the ceremony, a cocktail gathering all the participants will allow them to forge links and celebrate entrepreneurship on the continent.

Building a solid ecosystem linking technology and innovation in Africa is a priority for Seedstars. This year, the group launched multiple initiatives to provide structural support to the entrepreneurial environment. Seedstars has partnered with First Growth Ventures to launch Seedstars Africa Ventures, a fund for sub-Saharan Africa with a target size of $ 100 million, which will allow minority early-stage investments ranging from $ 250,000 to 5 million USD in the most promising and innovative companies, across different sectors and countries. In parallel, the Investment Readiness Program (IRP), a hybrid program, is reviewing the basics of the classic accelerator model by creating a unique and personalized mix to improve the performance of startups and prepare them to raise funds. countries have the opportunity to participate in local bootcamps leading to a pitch competition, to represent their country at the regional final which will take place during the Seedstars Summit Africa in December 2019. The most promising companies will then be selected to participate in the Seedstars Summit 2020, in Lausanne, Switzerland, and compete for the title of Seedstars Global Winner.
