Founded last November in Dakar, by Nancy Nambo, Ewa-Exchange Work Africa is a structure that aims to promote entrepreneurship on the continent, while promoting the return of brains. Its action consists, in particular, in facilitating the access of the project holders to the market of the chosen country. Through her services, Ewa allows the diaspora to reconnect with its roots and create wealth and employment for their families and beyond.

Introduce yourself and your journey

I am Nancy Nambo, Franco-Gabonese-Beninese with Nigerian origins, I am initially assistant of management and I was able to make my contribution on various projects within the framework of the posts that I could occupy in the past. Then one day, I had the feeling to have gone around, I was looking for new challenges. So I became interested in entrepreneurship and trained in CREACTIFS (training center for future entrepreneurs, located in the 8th arrondissement of Paris). This training revealed to me. Initially part of the idea of founding an incubator for young people from neighborhoods and diversity, I wanted to get closer to my culture and my roots by founding a talent factory to repatriate the diaspora in the framework for carrying out projects on the continent. So I flatten everything, sold my car and sacrifice many other things.

What is your project and its mission?

The Exchange Work Africa project was born in November 2017 in Dakar, why Senegal? Because I have particular ties with this country, it was for me a real trigger for the emergence of Africa and all this youth looking for a future …
Our mission is to promote entrepreneurship on the continent, while promoting the return of brains and facilitating access to different markets through services adapted to our main targets: students, investors, companies wishing to conquer the African market.
In short, EWA is a structure whose aim is to boost the African economic fabric by promoting the creation of wealth and jobs through entrepreneurship.

What is the business model ?
Our business model is very simple depending on the projects we have established a fee schedule:
Projects between 0 and 10 000 euros: 1500 euros
Between 50,000 and 100,000: 18%
more than 100,000 euros: 20%
The service includes travel expenses, the setting up of external resources (human, material) and studies (budget, land, consumers …). We also ensure the connection with the selected local relays according to the sectors. On the other hand, we provide our signatories with a year-long follow-up and remote management for project owners who do not wish to or can not remain in the territory for a very long time.
Our customers are mainly based in the West. Nevertheless, the ambition of EWA is to boost the African economic fabric, which is why a training service dedicated to local populations is proposed. As I always say, all Africans must have access to education and the transmission of know-how and skills. For a sustainable boom, we must not neglect anyone. Our goal is to deploy our services in all countries of French-speaking Africa, we will arrive soon in Ivory Coast in Mali and Benin.

Can you introduce your team?

We are a team of 3 people: I currently have two field consultants and an alternating trainee from the ESDL School of Development and Leadership of Dakar, led by Ibrahima Théo Lam. We are keen to develop collaborations with other firms approved and recommended by the Senegalese state.

What is the problem solved by Ewa?

EWA has a strong social impact and allows the diaspora to reconnect with its roots by creating wealth and employment for their families to be the first beneficiaries. EWA can also reveal talents, create businesses and thus reduce unemployment, it assumes an important economic function. EWA also has a strong political impact as it helps to reduce immigration in some way.
The goal of EWA, is to accompany and supervise, I think that many people who risk their lives crossing the Atlantic by canoe aspire for a better life in the West. These people necessarily have ideas or a talent and they must be able to be accompanied in the best conditions. By offering them real added value, we hope to convince them that in their homelands there is a lot of potential to exploit.

What do you need and how can AfrikaTech help you?

Afrikatech can bring me more visibility. You are followed by potential customers or investors, that our services could interest. As I told you I think we are in the same dynamic we necessarily have synergies to develop.

About The Author

CEO AfrikaTech

Rejoignez-nous ! LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/boubacardiallo
