Second edition for the international digital forum organized by Digital. More than 400 participants are expected at the beginning of October to talk, discuss and above all trade around five themes: health, industry, cities and buildings of tomorrow, tourism and connected agriculture. The first edition of NxSE was a success in the opinion of Philippe Arnaud, president of Digital Réunion, organizer of the forum. Rather than carrying out 10,000 international missions, we wanted to bring an African and European ecosystem to Reunion Island to make it an annual event, underlines Philippe Arnaud. The first oneThe edition made it possible to create contacts which led to the establishment of three metropolitan companies and a Mauritian with job creation to the key. More than 50 partnerships have also been established.

Richer and more varied

For the second edition on October 3, 4 and 5, Digital wanted to be bigger and more international. With a budget of 350,000 euros (compared to 315,000 euros for the 1st edition), this new NxSE forum is riding the wave of the first.

2017 will be different from 2016 because ecosystems know each other today, continues Philippe Arnaud.

New themes in which digital plays its full role have been selected: digital health markets and challenges, industry of the future, cities and buildings of tomorrow, connected tourism and connected agriculture. These are real challenges for Reunion Island but also for all the African countries targeted by NxSE.

Is this forum going to be used as an update? of Reunion Island in these different areas. The content will be richer and more varied, specifies the president of Digital. More than 20 conferences and side events (Barcamp Industrie du futur, Datathon Santé Numérique and Best Idea Pitch) are organized. We have listened to the grievances of participants from the past year. We will devote more time for B to B and networking meetings. We are hopeful of positive spinoffs in terms of trade agreements, adds Philippe Arnaud. Beyond that, all the French Techs in the area meet in Reunion Island at the beginning of October.

Reunion’s ambition is to be the digital crossroads between the Indian Ocean, Africa, Europe and part of Asia. This position must be valued and consolidated constantly because the bet is never definitely won. It is also for this reason that NxSE is now an annual meeting ?, concludes Philippe Arnaud.
