In Togo, the Employability and Youth Integration Support Project in Promising Sectors (PAEIJ-SP) is already bearing fruit. The initiative, which received $ 11.8 billion in funding from the African Development Bank (AfDB) last November, aims to create 20,000 jobs in Togolese agriculture.
In fact, 2,000 jobs have already been created in connection with the establishment of a soybean processing plant in Notsè, reports Republic Of Togo. The project, which wants to reach its objective before the year 2020, also intends to increase the incomes of beneficiaries by about 25%. It targets three regions, the most disadvantaged in the country, namely: the Savannahs, the Central region and that of the Plateaux.
In recent years, Togo has put agriculture at the heart of its priorities, notably by setting up a National Program for Agricultural Investments and Food Security (PNIASA).
