The Technical Center for Agricultural and Rural Cooperation (CTA) launched during the Forum of Young African Agripreneurs (AYA Forum), a guide for young people wishing to develop e-agricultural businesses in African, Caribbean and Pacific countries ( ACP). This Guide to ICT Agripreneurship has been designed to help young entrepreneurs make the most of information and communication technologies (ICT).
The guide was compiled by a team of international agribusiness and ICT trade consultants. It covers many areas, while emphasizing agricultural value chains and their needs. Topics covered include, for example: challenges of bringing new technologies to market; the art of establishing a “business plan”; access to finance and capital.
The paper presents a wide range of case studies, as well as tips from young entrepreneurs from ACP countries. It describes the most common mistakes, explains how to avoid them and makes a number of recommendations.
