Assessed by the African Union to more than 3.51 million people in Europe alone, the African diaspora is an economic and development windfall for the continent. In order to facilitate the relationship between this diaspora and their families in their countries of origin, in terms of health, insurance and death, Styve Tchachuang decided to found Diaspo Assur, insurance brokerage firm that allows members of the diaspora to take care of their families back home from Europe.
Introduce yourself and your background (briefly)
I am Styve Tchachuang, co-founder and associate of Diaspo Assur.
I am currently managing broker of Mutuelles Réunies for more than 7 years in Cameroon.
What is your project and its mission?
Today, we offer insurance solutions that allow Africans in the diaspora (Cameroon, Nigeria, Gabon, Ivory Coast, Senegal, Mali …) to take care of their family members who have stayed in their home countries.
How did you get the idea to start your business?
What you should know is that this idea was born from the observation that death is a sudden event, it would be wise to prepare at any time to be able to meet the expenses to be incurred when the time comes and avoid the last minute hassles (morgue fees, religious ceremony, parure of the body, coffin and others). It is also wise to be able to better prepare his return to Africa namely, sending car, that’s why we created Diaspo Assur.
What is the problem solved by Diaspo Assur?
Diaspo Assur responds to a very specific problem namely, taking care of the members of his family remained in Africa.
What is the business model ?
We offer quality insurance solutions (Diaspo Santé, Diaspo Frais Funéraires, Diaspo Retraite, etc.) for our target, with very competitive rates. The subscription starts at 2 € / month. Payment can be made monthly or annually, by credit card, bank transfer or via paypal.
Our common thread is the law of large numbers by putting forward small prices for a maximum of subscribers. The aim is to offer a wide range of products to all African communities in Europe at a lower price.
