The activity will take place during the Kinshasa international forum 2016 (KINFOR) scheduled for January 26 and 27, 2016 and organized by the ASBL Africa Rise.

KinPitch aims to allow young entrepreneurs to pitch, that is to say to present their projects for 4 minutes to a jury made up of recognized entrepreneurs, investors and big names in entrepreneurship in DR Congo and elsewhere. This first edition, say the organizers, is aimed at entrepreneurs, project leaders, creators of innovative businesses, researchers, associative actors, public actors, students. To this end, fourteen winners will be pre-selected and seven finalists will present their projects during KinFor. Applications, it is said, will be evaluated according to three main criteria: the approach and the societal / social and / or environmental impact of the project or the company in its object, in its strategy and in the management of its teams; the financial viability of the project as well as its creative and innovative character. The finalists will benefit from the support, throughout the year, of a godmother who will ensure the smooth running of their respective projects.

Youth, the driving force of tomorrow

For Africa Rise, which cites an OECD report, Africa is the youngest continent in the world with almost 70% of its population under the age of 25. Thus, the continent can boast of having an abundant workforce. These young people, it is said, constitute an extraordinary pool of talent and innovation. Thanks to their creativity, they are the driving forces of tomorrow. “This is why, through our KinPitch Special Youth Challenge, we wanted to highlight creative and innovative projects with high added value. For us, this is a strong commitment and a desire to contribute to the emergence of a dynamic entrepreneurial scene in the Democratic Republic of Congo, “explains Binta Sagna, director of communication for Africa Rise. The KinPitch Special Youth program, it is said, is an original response to support for entrepreneurship in the DRC.

As a reminder, KinFor will take place from January 26 to 27 at the Béatrice hotel in Kinshasa. The forum is intended to be a high-level international economic showcase for the DRC and will bring together Congolese and foreign entrepreneurs. The Forum, it is said, will be centered around thematic workshops, BtoB sessions, informal meetings between business leaders, institutions and political figures to establish sustainability, meet, exchange, share and contribute to the emergence of Africa.

Africa Rise is a Belgian organization which aims to facilitate contacts between European entrepreneurs and their African counterparts and to participate in the emergence of Africa. To do this, it organizes two forums: Africa-Belgium Business Week-ABBW and KINFOR.

CEO AfrikaTech

Rejoignez-nous ! LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/boubacardiallo
