Introduce yourself and your journey

N’Fansoumane BANGOURA or “Prince”, the founder of the marketplace Yankady was born in Guinea. A computer engineer by training, he developed several areas of expertise as an IT project manager in the Fintech sector, digital strategy consultant in the banking / finance, automotive and energy sectors. Passionate about new technologies and entrepreneurship He is currently evolving in the eco-system the eco-system of startups with the launch of two startups: YANKADY marketplace and Trustees, he also supports several startups in the creation of their activities .
What is your project and its mission?

Yankady is a marketplace which consists of bringing together all types of products of African originality in all sectors: beauty, fashion, food, groceries … and also services.

We offer a turnkey platform for online sales for all entrepreneurs looking to grow their business.

Our mission is to digitize the sales process for different products, such as products made locally in Africa often not found in e-commerce.

What is the problem solved by YANKADY?

Firstly, the YANKADY marketplace allows entrepreneurs to develop their activities by reaching a wider clientele locally and also internationally; By proposing their products on YANKADY, entrepreneurs can save on the costs of managing a website and focus on their main activities “creating and improving the product” because YANKADY provides a complete e-commerce solution and takes care of all the web-marketing part, customer relationship management etc.
In a second step, YANKADY allows customers to find on a single platform different types of quality products such as local African products, so no need to send money to Africa to get a product, you can order it in a few clicks and have it delivered. In addition, customers can be confident during the purchase because payments are secure, customers can see reviews from other customers, they can ask questions and have customer service.

What is the business model ?
The YANKADY marketplace has a very simple business model, with each sale the marketplace takes a commission on the sale price, there are no additional fees or management fees. So the seller does not advance money, he only pays when he generates a turnover.
How did you get the idea to start your business?
The idea came from two observations. The first observation was during my Masters years alternating between Orléans and the Paris region, several friends wanted me to send them products from the Paris region because they could not order them online, the same phenomenon also occurred with acquaintances who left Africa, we asked them to bring us products from Africa that we could not order online.
The second observation was the meetings with entrepreneurs in the Paris region who make excellent products to meet the needs of customers, but these entrepreneurs did not have an online sales process.

So I decided to launch the YANKADY marketplace in order to satisfy these customers looking for products and these entrepreneurs looking for market.

Can you introduce your team?
I have two partners who are: Ihab EL Anbri who is also evolving in new technologies as “Product Owner” and Sidney Ruby successful entrepreneur in the startup eco-system.

What are the next steps ?
We are in discussion with several business angels who wish to invest in the YANKADY marketplace, so several things will follow. The next step already planned is the launch of “Yankady Services” which will reference all the services offered by entrepreneurs (we have been asked several times about this).
