Increased sustainability of the program through its ‘Train the Teachers’ sessions and the development of women’s skills in support of the # eskills4girls initiative. It is on these issues that the Africa Code Week (ACW), will focus for the week of the code 2018.
Focusing on activities in these areas, Acw wants to “help overcome the digital divide between the sexes and promote the education, skills and employment of girls and women in a digital world”.
This year, thousands of free workshops for young people aged 8 to 16 in 36 African countries will be supported.
Awc is an initiative of Sap (market leader in software). It allows children and young people to learn digital skills from an early age. As a result, 1.8 million young people have already benefited from the code. Sap is helped in the African Code Week by the Unesco Youth Mobile, Google, educational institutions, companies, technology hubs and governments. This, in order to make digital skills an essential pillar of basic education across Africa.
