Morocco’s lagare.ma platform, which allows travelers to book and buy intercity bus tickets online, raised 2 million Moroccan dirhams ($ 216,766) from a private equity group whose identity was not disclosed.
The funds obtained will enable the startup founded in 2014 to expand its activities in a few countries in sub-Saharan Africa and North Africa like Cameroon, Tunisia and Egypt.
Issam Darui, the managing director of lagare.ma, told Moroccan media that he wanted to make his start-up one of the best platforms for online purchase of bus tickets across Africa.
It should be remembered that lagare.ma also leases tourist coaches and minibuses to its customers and provides information about transport companies to enable travelers to compare ticket prices.
